Black Adam: Sarah Shahi joins the cast of Dwayne Johnson’s superhero film

Black Adam, Cast, Sarah Shahi

Despite experiencing a series of delays, New Line and DC Films' much anticipated BLACK ADAM starring Dwayne Johnson is steadily coming together. Today it was announced that Sarah Shahi (The Rookie, City on a Hill, Sex/Life) has joined the cast. Previously, it was reported that Aldis Hodge will play Hawkman with Noah Centineo stepping into the role of Atom Smasher.

According to reports, Shahi will play a university professor and freedom fighter leading the resistance in Kahndaq, a fictional city located in a country on the Sinai Peninsula and the birthplace of Black Adam.

Set to be directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, whose JUNGLE CRUISE starring Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt is now in post-production, the most recent draft for BLACK ADAM was written by Rory Haines and Sohrab Noshirvani. Plot details for BLACK ADAM are still being kept under wraps at this time, though I suspect that more information will arrive sooner rather than later, seeing as the project is finally gaining steam.

Shahi is currently filming the Netflix series Sex/Life, in which she stars as Billie Connelly. The story revolves around a love triangle between a woman, her husband, and her past which takes a new look at female identity and desire. In other words, bring a glass of water and a hand fan to this one, folks, because it's bound to get a little steamy.

We'll be sure to bring you more news related to BLACK ADAM as it becomes available.
