Blackout art & release date

Terror. Elevated… That’s the, um, awesome (?) tagline for BLACKOUT, a movie that I remember reading about quite a while ago. It had fallen way off my radar until now: here’s the poster art for the claustrophobic flick, which sounds pretty intense (if it’s well done, of course).

You’re trapped in the dark elevator of a deserted building with two strangers on a hot August afternoon, with a dire need to be somewhere else. Things couldn’t get any worse…unless one of you is a psychopathic serial killer. Amber Tamblyn (The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, TV’s Joan of Arcadia) and Aidan Gillen (The Low Down, TV’s The Wire) star in this riveting thriller about what happens when escalating hostility, fear and desperation turn people into vicious, caged animals.

Well it will sure be interesting to see if this flick follows through on its premise. That is to say: have it take place in an elevator for the entire running time. I picture an escape then a 3rd act spent running around the building, but that’s just an old horror lover’s educated guess… We’ll find out when the Rigoberto Castaneda-directed flick hits DVD on JANUARY 13th.
