Blade Runner: Black Lotus anime voice cast: Jessica Henwick takes the lead

The Blade Runner franchise is set to continue with the anime Blade Runner: Black Lotus, a 13 episode series coming our way from Adult Swim and Crunchyroll, and it was announced today that Jessica Henwick will be providing the voice of the lead character Elle, "a female replicant created for a secret and unknown purpose".

Henwick is joined in the English voice cast by Will Yun Lee, Samira Wiley, Brian Cox, Wes Bentley, Josh Duhamel, Peyton List, Stephen Root, Barkhad Abdi, Gregg Henry, Henry Czerny, and Jason Spisak. 

Meanwhile, Arisa Shida is voicing Elle for the Japanese-language version of the show. The Japanese voice cast is rounded out by Shinshu Fuji, Takako Honda, Takaya Hashi, Takehito Koyasu, Taiten Kusunoki, Yoshiko Sakakibara, Hochu Otsuka, Takayuki Kinba, Masane Tsukayama, Akio Nojima, and Kazuki Yao.

– Joseph, a mysterious figure who owns a spare parts junkyard in Los Angeles, will be played by Will Yun Lee / Shinshu Fuji

– Alani Davis, a fresh LAPD recruit, will be played by Samira Wiley / Takako Honda

– Niander Wallace Sr, founder and CEO of the Wallace Corporation, will be played by Brian Cox / Takaya Hashi

– Niander Wallace Jr, brilliant scientist working for his father, will be played by Wes Bentley / Takehito Koyasu

– Marlowe, a deadly Blade Runner, will be played by Josh Duhamel / Taiten Kusunoki

– Josephine Grant, the wife of the police chief, will be played by Peyton List / Yoshiko Sakakibara

– Earl Grant, Police Chief of the LAPD, will be played by Stephen Root / Hochu Otsuka

– Doc Badger, a black market dealer, will be played by Barkhad Abdi / Takayuki Kinba

– Senator Bannister, a politician with strong feelings on replicant production, will be played by Gregg Henry / Masane Tsukayama

– Doctor M, a brilliant doctor and professor of medicine, will be played by Henry Czerny / Akio Nojima

– Hooper, a journalist in the pocket of the Wallace Corporation, will be played by Jason Spisak / Kazuki Yao

Shinji Aramaki and Kenji Kamiyama are directing the episodes. The series is being produced by Alcon Entertainment and animation studio Sola Digital Arts, with Shinichiro Watanabe on board as creative producer.

The English-language version of Blade Runner: Black Lotus will air as part of Adult Swim's anime block Toonami. Crunchyroll will stream the Japanese-language version with subtitles.

An online panel for the show will be part of Comic-Con@Home 2021. That panel is scheduled for 8pm Eastern on July 23rd and will feature Aramaki, Kamiyama, executive producer Joseph Chou, voice director Wes Gleason, Adult Swim/Toonami's Jason DeMarco, and Henwick.
