As Michael Myers stalks the streets of Haddonfield, Illinois once again in director David Gordon Green's HALLOWEEN sequel, it looks like he's going to be drawing the attention of the local police. Character actor Will Patton was recently announced to be playing a cop (possibly named Hawkins) in the film, and now actor/bodybuilder Rob Niter has taken to his Instagram account to reveal that he is also playing an officer in the Warren County Sheriff's Department, sharing a picture of himself in uniform and a video of him riding to set with several other Warren County police officers.
You may recall that Michael Myers was locked up in the Smith's Grove Warren County Sanitarium in the original HALLOWEEN, and even though the sanitarium was 150 miles away from Haddonfield, the Haddonfield police also wear Warren County uniforms. That's a big county.
Niter isn't the only cast member to announce his involvement on Instagram. Actress Rhian Rees did the same, sharing an image from her trailer in "downtown Haddonfield". If the IMDb listing can be trusted at this point, Rees appears to be playing a character named Dana.
Written by Green and Danny McBride, this new HALLOWEEN is being produced by Blumhouse Productions and Malek Akkad. Green and McBride are executive producing with John Carpenter, who is also planning to provide the score.
Ignoring every HALLOWEEN film except the 1978 original, this one brings Jamie Lee Curtis back as Laurie Strode for
her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.
Curtis, Patton, Niter, and Rees are joined in the cast by Judy Greer as Laurie's daughter Karen; Andi Martichak as Karen's daughter Allyson; Virginia Gardner, Miles Robbins, Dylan Arnold, and Drew Scheid as Allyson's classmates; and stuntman James Jude Courtney and original Michael Myers performer Nick Castle as the iconic slasher.
HALLOWEEN is currently filming in Charleston, South Carolina, and a new casting call reveals that one of the locations will be "a regular hospital". Project Casting is looking for extras of any age to play patients.
The movie is scheduled to reach theatres on October 19, 2018.
