Blumhouse’s Fantasy Island rated PG-13 for violence/terror & more

Blumhouse's horror twist on that old-ass FANTASY ISLAND show from back in the day with Lucy Hale from (SCREAM 4, PRETTY LITTLE LIARS) and Michael Pena (CHIPS, CRASH) as Mr. Roarke hits next month. And today we have word that the MPAA has slapped the movie with – you guessed it – a PG-13 rating for "violence, terror, drug content, suggestive material, and brief strong language."

… And brief strong language. For those of you that might not know what this means, it means that at some point in the movie someone (most likely Lucy Hale) will finally have enough, grab up a makeshift weapon, and say: "Time to get off this fucking island." The more you know, right?

Described as a mix of WESTWORLD and THE CABIN IN THE WOODS, it tells the tale of

the enigmatic Mr. Roarke, who makes the secret dreams of his lucky guests come true at a luxurious but remote tropical resort. But when the fantasies turn into nightmares, the guests have to solve the island’s mystery in order to escape with their lives.

Directed by Jeff Wadlow (KICK-ASS 2 and TRUTH OR DARE) from a script he wrote with Chris Roach and Jillian Jacobs FANTASY ISLAND is produced by Jason Blum and Marc Toberoff and stars Lucy Hale (SCREAM 4 and PRETTY LITTLE LIARS), Maggie Q, Michael Rooker, Ryan Hansen, Jimmy O. Yang, Charlotte McKinney, Parisa Fitz-Henley, Portia Doubleday, Austin Stowell, and Michael Pena (CHIPS and CRASH) as Mr. Roarke.

The flick was originally all set to hit a theater near you on February 28, 2020, before moving up to its current February 14, 2020 release date. Will you be checking into Blumhouse and director Jeff Wadlow's FANTASY ISLAND in theaters this Valentine's Day? Let us know below!
