If you didn’t think Bong Jo-ho was cool enough for directing the year’s best flick (if you haven’t see
THE HOST, what’re you waiting for?), his interview with Sci Fi Wire shoud convince you he’s a very super guy indeed. Instead of taking the obvious “Screw you Hollywood for remaking my already-good movie!” route, Bong is convivial about THE HOST remake, displaying hope for the movie’s potential, and a fondness for the monster movies of Universal’s yesteryear. He also talks a bit about a very intriguing project on his slate, La Transperceneige, an adaptation of a French comic book about the train-riding last remnants of humanity. Need that to be more kick-ass? Park Chan-Wook (OLDBOY, SYMPATHY FOR LADY VENGEANCE) is involved.
