Bowen in the Devil

Ti West’s HOUSE OF THE DEVIL is moving along rather quickly. Just last week I wrote that Dark Sky Entertainment had partnered with HISTORY OF VIOLENCE producers Roger Kass and Josh Braun to produce the film.

Now it comes from Icons of Fright that the horror film has picked up its first actor: AJ BOWEN. Bowen is really terrific in THE SIGNAL, in which he plays a homicidal exterminator. He’s the stand-out of the film, which finally sees the light of day on February 22 (in my opinion, it’s decent, but not quite the best thing since sliced bread). Bowen is also in CREEPSHOW 3, but the less said…

Here’s the lowdown on HOUSE OF THE DEVIL: In the late 1980s, college student SAMANTHA takes a strange babysitting job that coincides with a full lunar eclipse. She slowly realizes her clients harbor a terrifying secret; they plan to use her in a satanic ritual.

Apparently Bowen portrays a satanist, which sounds about right to me. He’s just got to make sure he’s not typecast from hereon as a lunatic. I guess there are worse things though – like being typecast as an idiot.

Look for an interview with AJ hitting Arrow in the Head quite soon!
