Apparently Ziggy Stardust is in negotiations to join the cast of thriller THE PRESTIGE, from director Christopher Nolan. David Bowie would take on the role of inventor Nikola Tesla in the tale of rival magicians. Since the cast also includes Hugh Jackman, Christian Bale and Michael Caine, I’m guessing it’ll be a far sight more intense than seeing who can pull the biggest rabbit out of their hat.
The script is based on Christopher Priest’s 1996 novel of the same name, and Nolan is currently tinkering with the adaptation penned by his brother Jonathan. Given the talent involved, I think that the tale of a magicians’ blood feud sounds like a must see.
