Brad Dourif to reprise his role as Chucky in the upcoming TV series!

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

While it was always speculated since the CHUCKY TV show was first announced, it has now been officially confirmed that Brad Dourif – the OG Chucky – will be reprising his role as the eponymous serial killing doll! Dourif has voiced the character for seven CHILD'S PLAY films (and even appeared as the human version of the character, Charles Lee Ray, before he was killed and his soul transferred to the iconic "Good Guy" doll in the original film), so this will be the eighth time he's voiced the character! And the first time since 2017's CULT OF CHUCKY!

The character was briefly voiced by Mark Hamill in last year's remake where the doll wasn't possessed by a serial killer, but rather a robotic toy gone mad – and while that got mixed-to-positive reviews – it seems that one may have been a one-off curio (and only existed because of a weird loophole in the rights).

Anyway, I think it's awesome that Dourif is coming back! At this point, he practically is the character. And here's the official synopsis of the show:

After a vintage Chucky doll turns up at a suburban yard sale, an idyllic American town is thrown into chaos as a series of horrifying murders begin to expose the town's hypocrisies and secrets.

Meanwhile, CHUCKY – created by series mastermind Don Mancini and also starring previously announced Jennifer Tilly – is expected to premiere on SYFY and USA sometime next year!

So what do you guys think? Fans of the original CHILD'S PLAY films? If so, how do you feel about the upcoming TV show? Either way, sound off below!
