Brad Pitt suggests he may retire, saying he’s on the “last leg” of his career

Brad Pitt, Bullet Train

Some people want to work until their dying day, while others are keen to embrace retirement if they’re able. While speaking with GQ, Brad Pitt seemed to suggest that his retirement from the silver screen is coming sooner than we think.

Brad Pitt is featured in the August 2022 issue of GQ, and during an interview with Ottessa Moshfegh, the actor seemed contemplative about what lays ahead. He doesn’t know what the future will bring, but he did say that he’s in the final stages of his creative career.

I consider myself on my last leg, this last semester or trimester. What is this section gonna be? And how do I wanna design that?

It doesn’t mean that Brad Pitt will be officially retiring from acting anytime soon, he still has several projects on his slate, but this “last leg” of his career might find the actor exploring new opportunities. Pitt has become a prolific producer through his production company in the last decade, so perhaps we might see the actor working more behind the scenes.

Brad Pitt will next be seen in David Leitch’s Bullet Train. The comedy action-thriller finds Pitt playing Ladybug, an unlucky assassin who is determined to do his job peacefully after one too many gigs gone off the rails. Fate, however, may have other plans, as Ladybug’s latest mission puts him on a collision course with lethal adversaries from around the globe – all with connected, yet conflicting, objectives – on the world’s fastest train…and he’s got to figure out how to get off. Pitt stars alongside Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Joey King, Brian Tyree Henry, Andrew Koji, Michael Shannon, Zazie Beetz, Sandra Bullock, and more. The film will hit theaters on August 5, 2022. Pitt is also starring alongside Margot Robbie in Damien Chazelle’s Babylon, a period drama about the end of the silent movie era.
