It was only a week ago that we heard word of Universal’s intention of dropping M. Night Shyamalan’s name and laughable subtitle “The Night Chronicles” from Drew and John Erick Dowdle’s new film DEVIL. Now that the studio has distanced itself from Shyamalan and his latest tanker (I dunno, something about bending air), a brand new one-sheet and trailer for DEVIL have just crossed the wire (via Apple), and we got the shite for your buggers below!
Scripted by Brian Nelson from a story by M. Night, DEVIL centers on A group of people trapped in a elevator realize that the devil is among them. Given that premise and the way the trailer looks, I’m pretty down with this bastard. Not only does it rock a simple premise, with action mostly taking place in one room/day (which I’ve admitted many times I’m partial to), it also has the dude from the opening scene of SUPER TROOPERS (“the schnaus-berries taste like schnaus-berries”). You know, the lucky mofo married to Christina Hendricks and her bodacious rack-work!
DEVIL, which possesses theatergoers September 17th, stars Chris Messina, Bojana Novakovic, Geoffrey Arend, Logan Marshal-Green, Caroline Dhavernas (below), Jacob Vargas, Bokeem Woodbine, Jenny O’Hara, Matt Craven and Kim Roberts.
Enjoy the new peeks!
