Some very exciting news is coming to us straight from the boys over at Bloody-D, and I hope it pans out to be true and not just another rumor. According to those gents, Brandon Routh (aka Superman in some circles, and Dylan Dog in others) has scored a role in Frank Darabont’s zombie apocalypse TV series THE WALKING DEAD for the AMC network!
Routh has the chiseled looks and persona of a hero, making him a perfect choice in the hero role in a show about zombies. Of course, I’m assuming he’ll be the hero here. I guess he could be a zombie. And wouldn’t that be f*cked up??
The series is based on Robert Kirkman’s comic series about a group of zombie survivors of an apocalypse who are led by a police officer, Rick Grimes in search of a safe place to live.
Andrew Lincoln has already been cast as Rick Grimes, so Routh’s role is still up in the air, as is his entire involvement in the project, so please take this with a grain of salt until it’s actually been confirmed. Right now it’s a rumor… but a rumor with some serious promise.
