Bridesmaids Chris O’Dowd admits to having a role in Thor: The Dark World

Initially when writing the title for this article, I wanted to write THE IT CROWD’s Chris O’Dowd. However, I know that not many people have seen it so I thought that BRIDESMAIDS would be the film to drop that most people would know him from. PIRATE RADIO is a good choice as well. Very underrated film. The point is, if you haven’t seen THE IT CROWD just do yourself a favor and check it out. Graham Linehan created the show, and he also created one of my other favorite comedies, FATHER TED.

O’Dowd seems to be getting more exposure with roles in BRIDESMAIDS and more recently, THIS IS 40. It seems that he’s also done some filming for a certain Marvel franchise– THOR. While being interviewed for IndieWire, O’Dowd admitted to having a part in THOR: THE DARK WORLD:

I think I’ll do more dramatic stuff and I think I have some stuff coming out that’s a bit more dramatic. I don’t know if I’d do an action movie because I don’t know if I could keep a straight face honestly, I just think it’s so silly. Like I love watching them but I can’t imagine me doing one. Actually, you know what I’ve done, just for fun because I didn’t think there was any way that I could be in a superhero movie, so I’ve done a scene in the new “Thor” movie, just for that. I just do like one scene, which was quite fun.

Back in November, as pointed out by ComicBookMovie.com, O’Dowd possibly eluded to the role in a Tweet:

CBM also hints at the idea of O’Dowd playing Donald Blake, but I wonder if they would just film one scene for a character like that. Crazier things have happened. Regardless, I can’t wait to see his cameo.
