Lionsgate is feeling pretty high and happy just about now as the vampire flick they shelfed a while back is getting positive buzz over at the Toronto International Film Festival. That’s right folks, I’m talkin’ DAYBREAKERS, and to show their full support (thank you positive buzz!), Lionsgate released a new image from the set of DAYBREAKERS today, featuring the directing duo the Spierig Brothers in action!
You can also see what appears to either be really sick vampires, or people almost completely drained from blood due to being vampire food one too many times. Either way, it’s lookin’ to be some good stuff, yo!
Starring Willem Dafoe, Ethan Hawke, and Sam Neil, DAYBREAKERS goes a little something like this: In the year 2019, a plague has transformed most every human into vampires. Faced with a dwindling blood supply, the fractured dominant race plots their survival; meanwhile, a researcher works with a covert band of vamps on a way to save humankind.
Awesome. DAYBREAKERS is set to hit theaters January 8th… maybe that positive buzz will move it up a little bit early. Enjoy the new pic above, and while you’re at it, check out the trailer below. Finally… a good vampire movie to sink our teeth in!
