Bruce Campbell returns to TV as host of new Ripley’s Believe it or not

Last Updated on July 21, 2021

Last year we were all hit with the terrible news that Bruce Campbell's ASH VS EVIL DEAD series had been canceled by Starz after three seasons. It's a total bummer to know that we will not be seeing Campbell play Ash (in any form) in the future, but all is not black clouds as today we have news of a silver lining. It turns out that Campbell will be returning to TV this year as the host of an upcoming reboot of Ripley's Believe It or Not!

For those who might not be aware, Ripley's Believe It or Not! is a documentary television series based on the newspaper feature. The first series aired on NBC from 1949 to 1950 and was hosted by Robert L. Ripley until his death. The series was revived in the '80s for ABC and was hosted by Jack Palance. Another revival hit TBS in 2000, and aired until 2003, with Dean Cain as host. A Filipino version, hosted by Chris Tiu, debuted in 2008. An animated series based on the franchise was also created.

Now I'm not the world's biggest fan of Ripley's Believe It or Not! but I have been to the attraction located here in Florida in Saint Augustine, and I enjoyed that. Add in Bruce Campbell and this new iteration of the classic series is one that I just might be tuning into weekly. I guess we'll see!

The Bruce Campbell hosted reboot of Ripley's Believe It or Not will be landing (strangely enough) on The Travel Channel sometime in 2019. We will keep track of this new series and let you know as soon as we hear more! Are you excited for Bruce Campbell's return to TV? Let us know below!
