Bruce Campbell voicing a monster on Netflix’s The Last Kids on Earth

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Based on the best-selling series written by Max Brallier, Netflix's animated series THE LAST KIDS ON EARTH is about "Jack Sullivan and a band of suburban middle schoolers living in a decked-out tree house, playing video games, gorging themselves on candy and battling zombies."

Meanwhile, for the upcoming second season, Bruce Campbell (ASH VS. THE EVIL DEAD) has been tapped to voice the character of "Chef", who is described as

[a] grouchy monster who cooks all the bizarre concoctions at Joe’s Pizza. He’s still learning how to cook with Earth food. His cuisine is less than tasty, but he challenges Dirk to competitive cook-offs!

Apparently the show is expanding from simply zombies, as it seems "Chef" is an alien of some sort. And Campbell is no stranger to voice-acting in children's animation, as he played the ever-expanding mayor villain in Phil Lord and Chris Miller's CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS.

Season 2 of the show, which premieres on Netflix April 17th, also includes an impressive all-star cast alongside Campbell, including Mark Hamill, Rosario Dawson, Catherine O’Hara, and Keith David.

So what do you guys think? Anyone see the show (I'm kind of impressed there's a children's show with zombies in it, though I guess ADVENTURE TIME was technically post-apocalyptic)? If not, would Bruce Campbell lure you in? Either way, sound off below!
