Bruce Willis set to play the villain in the action film The Prince

Bruce Willis has done a little of everything over his career: drama, action, comedy, science fiction, thrillers, nudity, and even a little singing. One thing he has not tackled is playing the villain. Willis has played dark characters and antiheroes but never the true bad guy in any movie (okay, maybe THE JACKAL, but that is up to debate). That will all change with THE PRINCE.

Deadline reports that Willis will appear in THE PRINCE for director Sarik Andreasyan as the primary antagonist for the hero. There is no word on who will star in the film, but you better bet it will have to be someone who can go toe to toe with John McClane.

Here’s the plot for THE PRINCE:

A retired Las Vegas mob enforcer is forced to return to the city and face his former enemies when his teenage daughter goes missing. Willis plays a man who has waited years for the enforcer to return, and a confrontation is inevitable.

Bruce Willis is consistent in his role selection. Every so often he breaks from that mold and the results can either be MOONRISE KINGDOM or THE WHOLE NINE YARDS. Willis is definitely an actor who you can read whether he cares about the movie or not. I admire that he continues to try and give the world the DIE HARD sequel it deserves but has not quite done so yet. Maybe THE PRINCE will serve as a new avenue for the actor to give audiences something from the action genre.
