2016 marks the twentieth anniversary of the cult comic book series Bubba the Redneck Werewolf, which was created by Mitch Hyman and published at first through Brass Ball Comics and later Creature Entertainment. Hyman initially came up with the idea for the character while trying to put together a costume for a Halloween party, so it's quite appropriate that the cinematic adaptation of his work is set to be released just in time for Halloween twenty years later.

Directed by Brendan Jackson Rogers from a screenplay by Stephen Biro, the live action BUBBA THE REDNECK WEREWOLF film has the following synopsis:

Welcome to Cracker County, Florida! Join a host of riotous hillbillies as they fight to save their town of Broken Taint from the forces of evil. It’s a darn good thing they’ve got Bubba the Redneck Werewolf on their side! Now if only they can pull him away from his beer and chicken wings…

Fred Lass stars as Bubba and is joined in the cast by Malone Thomas, Gary Norris, Sara Humbert, Chris Stephens, Gail Fleming, and Hyman as The Devil.

MVD Entertainment will be releasing BUBBA THE REDNECK WEREWOLF on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital / VOD on October 11, 2016. If you'd like to pick up a copy on disc, it's now available for pre-order on Amazon.
