So, fans of original G1 Transformers REJOICE! Hold hands and sing in the streets as Bumblebee is now finally the VW he was always meant to be! This is according to a set pic that shows Bumblebee in car mode:

Apparently the original Michael Bay film was to have Bumblebee be the classic VW (which makes sense as someone's first car), but Michael Bay said it reminded him too much of Herbie the Lovebug, so Bumblebee became a Chevrolet Camaro. Okay.

Anyway, I'm sick of TRANSFORMERS and spin-offs in general, as well as goddamn 80's nostalgia, but with Hailee Steinfeld in the lead, and Travis Knight (director of KUBO AND THE TWO STRINGS) at the helm, I can't help but have a little hope for the film. It might be trash, but at least it'll be different trash than we're used to. Also, John Cena!

Meanwhile, BUMBLEBEE will roll out into theaters December 21st, 2018.
