Remember that “trapped in a house with a tiger” flick I wrote on about a month ago? It’s the one called BURNING BRIGHT (a reference to the tiger’s eyes, I believe). Well, even if you weren’t yet in the know, it looks like this outlandishly original movie is moving along nicely.

Up top, you’ll see the first still released for B.B. and I must admit, it looks pretty bad ass! Another thing the flick clearly has going for it is having Briana Evigan (above with Mr. Tiger) as the star. Not only is this girl extra easy on the eyes, she’s also got some pretty impressive acting chops. I think she’s definitely “one-to-watch” in the future big-time starlet market. Plus, she’s even starting to carve up some major cred in the genre with roles in SORORITY ROW, FEAR ITSELF, and S. DARKO.

The flick is being directed by Carlos Brooks from a script by Christine Coyle Johnson and Julie Prendiville Roux. The full synopsis goes like this: A 20 year-old and her autistic little brother are trapped in a house with a ravenous tiger during a hurricane. In addition to Evigan, the rest of the cast consists of Garret Dillahunt, Charlie Tahan, Mary Rachel Dudley, and Peggy Sheffield. BURNING BRIGHT is set to release some time in 2009.
