The super visionary that is Tim Burton and the super greedy company that is Disney will be giving us a treat come October: Burton’s film THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS will be re-released. And to supplement the Burtonfest, Disney will also be showing his 1982 stop-motion short titled VINCENT, a film about a boy named Vincent Malloy, who imagines he is like Vincent Price. The coolest part about the short film is that Burton actually got Vincent Price to narrate the flick.
If re-releasing Burton’s super fun film THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS and his relatively unknown short film wasn’t enough, Burton and Disney are planning to do all of this in 3-D. Yup, that’s right, a whole bunch of stop-motion is going to be all up in your grill come October. I’m always down to see Santa Clause getting his ass handed to him by those crazy ghouls and skeletons, and this time it’s going to be 3-D! Let’s just hope that they’ve come up with a way for those 3-D glasses to not look so damn geeky.
