Today, we have a look at two stars playing some rather dirty, banged-up, and generally run-down looking fellows. First up is Matt Damon, who is starring in Neil Blomkamp’s ELYSIUM, a class warfare sci-fi pic slated to open next year. Damon sports a shaved head and homemade exoskeleton suit that’s highly reminiscent of the “tech” from Blomkamp’s outstanding DISTRICT 9. The film co-stars Jodie Foster, William Fichtner, Alice Braga, Sharlto Copley, and Talisa Soto and is slated to hit screens on August 9, 2013. Give us a trailer already!

In addition, the Sony website has an interesting iittle viral campaign going on that puts you in an “interview” with a border agent to ELYSIUM. The end result is liking their Facebook page, which is a front for ELYSIUM, featuring images and updates of the idyllic life in that region. Click the “border agent” below to conduct your interview.
Next up is pretty boy Ryan Gosling, looking like Hamburger Helper in Nicolas Winding Refn’s ONLY GOD FORGIVES, a revenge film that reportedly will feature some MMA-style beatdowns. Refn is no stranger to extreme violence (see DRIVE and VALHALLA RISING) and I have little doubt that ONLY GOD FORGIVES will rain blood on audiences when it’s released next year.
