DRIVE and ONLY GOD FORGIVES director Nicolas Winding Refn is powering up his next film, a horror picture called THE NEON DEMON. Gaumont and Wild Bunch are producing the film, which they’ll be presenting to buyers at the American Film Market.

Plot details are scarce, but Variety labels the film as “a horror tale toplined by a soon-to-be-announced female star.” Refn also provided this quote:

“One morning I woke and realized I was both surrounded and dominated by women. Strangely, a sudden urge was planted in me to make a horror film about vicious beauty,” said Refn about the origins of the movie. “After making ‘Drive’ and falling madly in love with the electricity of Los Angeles, I knew I had to return to tell the story of ‘The Neon Demon.’”

This sounds very good to me. We’ll let you know more about THE NEON DEMON once the news comes in.
