Fresh off of a huge weekend gross from 300, actor Gerard Butler is now lined up to star in the remake of John Carpenter’s classic 1981 film ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK. And thank God! – it’s only been .0000000007 seconds since I last came across news about a remake and I was starting to get worried! I was afraid that Hollywood was going down a more original path, but thankfully not.
Butler would reportedly play Snake Plissken, the eye-patch wearing bad-ass who goes to the inescapable maximum security prison that used to be the city of Manhattan, all to save the President of the US.
As of right now Neal Moritz is set to produce with the aid of BLACK HAWK DOWN screenwriter Ken Nolan writing the script.
