Candy Land: Olivia Luccardi, Eden Brolin to star in truck stop horror film

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Olivia Luccardi of It Follows and Eden Brolin of Yellowstone are set to star in the "gritty horror thriller" Candy Land for Roxwell Films and writer/director John Swab. Luccardi is taking on the role of

a young disciple of a religious cult, Remy (Luccardi), who stumbles upon a rag-tag group of truck stop sex workers known as “lot lizards” who take her under their wing. As Remy immerses herself in this new underground world, her true colors are revealed in a way that neither her former family nor new family could have ever imagined.

Filming is already underway in Montana. Luccardi and Brolin are joined in the cast by Sam Quartin, Owen Campbell, Billy Baldwin, Guinevere Turner, Virginia Rand, and Brad Carter.

Swab is producing Candy Land with Jeremy M. Rosen, while Robert Ogden Barnum and Michael Reiser serve as executive producers. Rosen says Candy Land

ratchets up our usual gritty fare and delves into the mysterious underworld of lot lizards – a ripe and unique setting for a visceral horror-thriller with a terrific ensemble cast, composed largely of friends and repeat collaborators."

I'm the son of a truck driver, so a horror film set around a truck stop instantly has my attention.
