Cannibal goes to Court

This chalks up there with the so strange it has to be true files, where not even the sickest minds could come up with, or predict. Convicted German cannibal Armin Meiwes sued the filmmakers of ROHTENBURG (formerly BUTTERFLY: A LOVE STORY), in attempts to prevent it’s German March 9th release.

The flick is based on Meiwes’ story, in which he placed an ad on the internet looking for someone willing to be his vicitm as he feeds his canaballistic hungers. It isn’t crazy that he placed the ad… it’s crazy that it was answered! So like anybody would do in a situation like this, he eats the guy… and goes to prison for a mere 8 years (!). Talk about f*cked up….

Fearing that the film would sway his retrial at the German Supreme Court, Meiwes and his lawyers have stopped the release of ROHTENBURG in Germany. In the meantime, Meiwes is working with a documentary crew to tell his side of the story, wich will most likely counterbalance anything that ROHTENBURG depicts.

And the final twist? ‘Felicity’ star Keri Russell is in it! Yeah! How the hell did that happen? Stay tuned as we hear of the latest ongoings of ROHTENBURG, which will most likely keep getting stranger and stranger and stranger…
