Well folks it’s a slow ass news day on this fine Wednesday morning so I’ve decided to bring you all a bit of real-life news. The kicker with this news today is that it does sort of actually tie in with an upcoming genre feature: John Gulager’s PIRANHA 3DD!
No use beating around the bush, is there? As the title of this article points out some real life piranha have attacked! It seems a pack of hungry piranha have resorted to attacking beach-goers off the Brazilian northeast coast. According to the site Breitbart at least 100 people were attacked by the hungry fish and treated at the nearby hospital. Local enviromental official Romildo Mafra adds:
“Since they have no predators, piranhas have started attacking people on the beach.”
Sounds like that’s one hell of a problem. To curb the piranha’s hunger environmental officials have added tilapia to the piranhas’ local food chain… but that can only hold them off for so long.
Thankfully it doesn’t seem like anyone was badly injured. I bet Dimension Films are loving this. Can you get better advertisement? No, I didn’t think so.
