It's pretty much a given at this point that CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR is going to make a boatload of cash, and according to THR, the thirteenth installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is on track for an opening weekend of $175 million. If the tracking is accurate, the movie will score the fifth biggest domestic opening ever behind STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS ($248 million), JURASSIC WORLD ($208 million), THE AVENGERS ($207 million) and AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON ($191 million).

However, there's some who believe that CIVIL WAR may come close to hitting $200 million in its first weekend, especially with the hype surrounding the film and the strong early reviews, and tracking numbers aren't always reliable. Jon Favreau's THE JUNGLE BOOK, for example, was "only" expected to earn $87 million in its debut weekend, but it ended up grossing a little over $100 million.

Personally, I think there's a very good chance that the Marvel flick will hit or approach the double century mark in its opening weekend, and as a huge box office nerd, I can't wait for the numbers to start rolling in.

CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR is due out on May 6th.
