Some of you may be loathing the upcoming remake of THE HITCHER, from Rogue Pictures/ Platinum Dunes, and some of you may be looking forward to what they’re going to pull off, as the TCM remake didn’t turn out that bad, and there were parts of THE AMITYVILLE HORROR that worked. Either way, Fangoria got some cool casting news today, that makes their ensemble so far lookin’ pretty good.
Neil McDonough, who rocked it in MINORITY REPORT and first seen in DARKMAN, has been cast as Captain Esteridge, who attempts to help the fearful couple being terrorized by the psychopathic hitch-hiker (played by Sean Bean).
I always liked this dude from MINORITY REPORT, and I can see him rockin’ the role with a vengeance- a good match to go up against Bean. HITCHER is also set to star Sophia Bush and Zach
Knighton as the unlucky couple. So say what you will about this remake, but so far the cast is looking good- of course, a cast doesn’t make a movie, and everything else could suck about this flick, so I guess we’ll just have to wait until April 6, 2007 when THE HITCHER hits theaters everywhere.
