The 40th anniversary of Brian De Palma's classic Stephen King adaptation CARRIE is an occasion well worth celebrating, and if there happens to be an anniversary screening in your vicinity this year that would definitely be something worth attending. Fans in the Los Angeles area will have the chance to go to an event that sounds mind-blowingly cool – Scream Factory, who will be releasing the film on Collector's Edition Blu-ray on October 11th, have teamed with the non-profit cancer support center weSPARK to host a screening of a brand new restoration of the film, a cast and crew reunion, and 1970s prom-themed celebration at the historic Ace Theater in Downtown L.A. on Friday, October 14, 2016.

The cast and crew members who will be in attendance are Piper Laurie, Nancy Allen, William Katt, P.J. Soles, editor Paul Hirsch, and Casting Director Harriett B. Helberg. The cast will be participating in a Q&A moderated by Bryan Fuller.

For the event, the Ace Theater will be transformed with prom-style decor, and attendees are encouraged to come dressed in 1970s formal attire or as their favorite character from the movie. They'll get a chance to have their picture taken in a special photo booth and compete in a Carrie character costume contest.

There are a few different ticket tiers –

$25 – General Admission including Prom-Themed After Party

$75 – Preferred Seating + Exclusive Carrie Poster + New Scream Factory Blu Ray + Photo Op including Prom Themed After-Party (Limited availability)

$125 – VIP seating + Exclusive Carrie Poster & Blu-ray + Photo Op with cast/crew including After-Party + Private Pre-Party (Limited availability)

Making all of this awesomness even better is the fact that all proceeds will directly benefit weSPARK's cancer support programs.

Nancy Allen, who played bully Chris Hargensen in CARRIE and is now Executive Director of weSPARK, had this to say about the event:

I want a recount!  I can’t believe “Carrie” is celebrating its 40th Anniversary!  This movie changed my career much like weSPARK has changed my life, and to bring these two worlds together for good, only adds to the specialness of this celebration.”

If you'll be able to make to the screening, tickets can be secured at AceHotel.com.
