CBS’ Supergirl series adds Calista Flockhart to its cast

For those of you looking forward to the upcoming Supergirl show premiering on CBS, a rather recognizable name has been added to its roster: Calista Flockhart. Ally McBeal herself has signed on to play Cat Grant, founder of CatCo. Kara Zor-El (to be played by Melissa Benoist) will find herself working as an assistant to Ms. Grant, and the pilot episode will see her embracing her powers that she shares with her cousin (the infamous Superman) and stepping up to the plate to see what good she can do in the world.

Last we heard, Supergirl might even do a crossover with Flash and Arrow. If anything, I think that'll help to give Supergirl a big boost. Comic book heroes are showing up on the smaller screen left and right, and while I think Supergirl is a name that has enough weight on its own, a crossover with two of the more popular comic book shows on TV certainly couldn't hurt. Then again, looking at Melissa Benoist, she may not even need the help. Is it too early for a publicity photo?
