Todays massive dump of info from Marvel Studios at the El Capitan theater revealed an entire slate of Phase 3 films, many of which came as a pleasant surprise, including the much-anticipated BLACK PANTHER film. Along with the onslaught of new titles and dates, Marve Studios president Kevin Feige also let loose that 42 star Chadwick Boseman will play the warrior/king of the fictional country of Wakanda.

According to Deadline, Boseman is signed on to portray the character for at least 5 films, starting with CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR where Feige said we will meet T’Challa aka Black Panther for the first time (in full costume), in which he will play a pivotal role. The Civil War storyline is said to be a very different than the original comic book series where the title comes from. The seeds of Wakanda are said to start being planted in AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON, which will continue to build to T’Challa’s introduction and eventual solo outing.
