Chainsaw Sally creative team tells a slasher’s final chapter in Camp Killer

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Eleven years after creating the indie sensation CHAINSAW SALLY, that film’s writer/director JimmyO Burril, star April Monique Burril, and assistant director Shawn Jones are teaming up again on CAMP KILLER, which is being written and directed by Jones. Jones previously directed the feature CORPUS KRISTI and contributed one of the fake commercials seen in WNUF HALLOWEEN SPECIAL.

The CAMP KILLER story was crafted as if it were the last installment in a non-existent slasher franchise that began thirty years ago, and the film has what may be the greatest “movie meets movie” description I’ve ever heard – FRIDAY THE 13TH PART VI meets MY DINNER WITH ANDRE.

The result of that cinematic collision is this synopsis:

JimmyO Burril is the sheriff of the town plagued by an unstoppable killer (J Clinton Watkins).  As they meet up one last time, a pair of survivors (one played by April Monique Burril) complicate matters for the worse.  Who will be left standing and what will remain of their sanity?

Works for me. I’m a fan of CHAINSAW SALLY, I love ’80s slashers, and FRIDAY THE 13TH PART VI is the movie that jump-started my appreciation for the horror genre, so I’m really looking forward to seeing this one come together.

If you’d like to help CAMP KILLER slash its way to the screen and secure a copy of the finished film, a Kickstarter campaign is currently underway.
