Check out first looks at Star Wars: The Force Awakens line of action figures

The first Hasbro action figures for STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS have been revealed and it sounds like it was by accident. Idle Hands has posted images of the toys that were purchased via an eBay auction after someone found the figures for sale on a WalMart shelf. Clearly, that WalMart is in deep doo-doo, but we now have our first glimpse at some toys from the upcoming film.

The images released thus far are for Kylo Ren, Captain Phasma, Finn in his Jakku garb, and a First Order flametrooper. These appear to be the general 3.75 inch figures found at your general toy stores and also come with segments of a larger weapon toy, a ploy to get customers to buy all the figures in a set to complete the special additional toy. It is interesting to note that the back of the figures features a brief description of the character which is in line with the background shared by J.J. Abrams about character names. You can also see that there is a new character pictured named Constable Zuvio we have yet to see in any photos or trailer footage.

I also noticed that while all of the toys pictured are brand new for the feature film, the STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS figure for Luke Skywalker appears to be a much younger Mark Hamill from around THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK. The question here is whether Lucasfilm is saving the reveal of Luke's appearance until closer to the movie or if one of the rumored flashbacks in the film features a younger Hamill. Whichever it ends up being, I am just excited that these toys look like they fit perfectly with the STAR WARS merchandise we have come to know for the last four decades.

STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS opens on December 18th.
