Check out Gwen, Electro, and Spidey’s new hat in these new photos from The Amazing Spider-man 2

While we are still over a month away from the official trailer for THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2, some new photos have made their way online thanks to The Times of India. The photos don’t offer any revelatory information but we do get to see Spider-man in a unique outfit, Jamie Foxx giving his best O-face as Electro, and Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield sharing a quiet moment as Peter Parker and Gwen Stacey.

The first photo of Spider-man wearing a firefighter helmet initially struck me as a Photoshop job, but if it is a real image from the movie it could be a typical smart-ass moment for Peter Parker as he fully becomes the center of attention as New York’s friendly neighborhood superhero. I would never be shocked if the character did it on the comic page but it does look a little silly in a still like this.

The second and third photos look like the same glimpses we have seen so far. I am truly hoping that Electro plays better on the big screen than he does in these stills. Sure, the blue looks kind of cool but I still don’t think Electro will work as a primary villain. While the Comic Con trailer for THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 revealed the animal source of Electro’s powers (take a wild guess, if you don’t already know), it did little to instill faith in the bad guy’s cred.

Marc Webb has a long term plan in place for THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 and the two already announced sequels, so hopefully all fears will be alleviated when the trailer finally hits. THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 hits theaters on May 2, 2014 followed by third and fourth films on June 10, 2016 and May 4, 2018.
