Check out our video tribute to Brian Dennehy (1938-2020)

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Brian Dennehy is one of the premiere character actors of our generation, who unfortunately passed away earlier this year. He was a veteran of the stage and screen, winning Tony Awards and Golden Globes for his powerful, dynamic performances. While he seems to be most well-known to a certain generation as Chris Farely's affable father in TOMMY BOY, he was so much more than that. He was the antagonist of the first Rambo movie, FIRST BLOOD, one of the co-leads of the fun buddy-cop films F/X and F/X 2, Leonardo DiCaprio's father in ROMEO + JULIET, and was given wide praise for his portrayal of Willie Loman in DEATH OF A SALESMAN in the 2000 television film of the same name, among many, many other iconic roles. He even worked as recently as 2018 in the ensemble comedy TAG.

Meanwhile, JoBlo has created a touching tribute of Dennehy and all his achievements, and its worth checking out. It shows off all of his most iconic roles, as well as an illuminating interview of Dennehy contemplating life and moving on.

RIP Brian Dennehy (1938-2020).
