Where the hell is DEAD OF NIGHT? Kevin Munroe’s film version of the “Dylan Dog” comics has been in the can for over a year (musta been the burritos hahahaha!) but there’s been very little movement on the “release date” front. Supposedly the footage screened at last summer’s Comic-Con was pretty impressive, so what gives?
Unfortunately, I don’t even have an answer to these questions. But maybe I can provide some hope… According to the Official Dead of Night Production Blog, there’s something brewing in Italy, and it ain’t Espresso: “Having some GREAT conversations with Italian distributors, who are chomping at the bit for this film. Great news on that front coming VERY soon!”
Back in January, the blog had the following to say about the seemingly inert state of the flick: “…this movie is most certainly NOT dead. There’s been a lack of updates lately because it’s been a very slow and labor intensive time tweaking the edits to make sure we have the best movie possible. I didn’t think anyone would be interested in hearing stuff like, “cut two seconds out of scene 13, reel 4 today”. I hope it hasn’t given anyone the wrong impression about what’s going on with the film. We’ve got a really great film on our hands and we’re all very, very proud of it.”
To check the blog out, head on over HERE. As you can see, they recently posted some photos of Dylan Dog’s desk. Hopefully it’ll make a few of you geek out…
DEAD OF NIGHT stars Brandon Routh, Peter Stormare, Sam Huntington, Anita Briem, Kurt Angle, and Taye Diggs.
