The above image represents a first look at Cameron Diaz, Quvenzhané Wallis, Jamie Foxx, and Rose Byrne in the upcoming remake of ANNIE directed by Will Gluck. The image comes from the recent New York City shoot of the updated version of the song “Tomorrow” which fans of the musical or the classic film version are familiar with.

In the new film, Jamie Foxx plays Benjamin Stacks instead of Daddy Warbucks. Stacks is running for mayor and becomes the unwilling guardian to little orphan Annie. Eventually, they come to love each other after hilarity and musical numbers ensue. This version will take a contemporary look at the story but still seems to be hitting all of the same beats as the original. Rose Byrne appears to be playing the part of Warbucks/Stacks’ secretary and eventual love interest, previously played by Ann Reinking in the 1982 version. Bobby Cannavale has recently joined the cast as a political advisor to Stacks, so stay tuned for the cast to grow.

ANNIE is slated to hit theaters on December 19th, 2014. Check out a behind the scenes look at the filming of “Tomorrow” below.
