I can’t front, ever since announcing that Paddy Considine was set to helm an ultra-violent thriller, I immediately couldn’t wait to see what he had in store. As the calendar continued to flip, all we really saw from TYRANNOSAUR was the elegant one-sheet, doing little more than adding to the intrigue.
Well, we finally have the trailer for the film below, and while it’s certainly different than I imagined, it looks to be the kind of intense personal drama, sublimely acted, that’s always a welcome view. Give her a glance and see what you think!
Starring the great Peter Mullan, Olivia Coleman, Eddie Marsan, Paul Popplewell, Ned Dennehy, Samuel Bottomley, Sally Carman, Sian Breckin and Paul Conway:
TYRANNOSAUR is the story of Joseph (Peter Mullan), a man who is plagued by a violence and rage that is driving him to self destruction. As he falls further into turmoil Joseph scours the landscape in search of a single grain of redemption that might restore hope to his fractured life. A chance of redemption appears in the form of Hannah (Olivia Colman), a Christian charity shop worker. Their relationship develops to reveal that Hannah is hiding a secret of her own with devastating consequences for both of them.
TYRANNOSAUR enters UK theaters October 7th.
