In many ways, TRON: LEGACY was like an animated movie. In fact, while I didn’t hate LEGACY, I might’ve liked it more as an animated movie (or at least I might’ve forgiven some of its flaws). I’ll be when Disney greenlit the upcoming animated series “Tron: Uprising” based off last December’s sequel, they were hoping for greater returns from the movie. That didn’t happen but “Tron: Uprising” is still set to debut on DisneyXD later this year.
Many of the LEGACY players – writers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, and director Joseph Kosinski – are in play here so it’ll be interesting to see how this storyline fits into the TRON legacy (see what I did there?). The cartoon features the voices of Elijah Wood (as our new hero, Beck) and Lance Henricksen as the evil General Tesler, as well as Mandy Moore, Paul Reubens and Bruce Boxleitner who is returning as Tron.
