Check out these behind the scenes pics of Luc Besson’s sci-fi epic Valerian

Filmmaker Luc Besson is knee-deep in production on his sci-fi epic, VALERIAN AND THE CITY OF A THOUSAND PLANETS (say that 5 times fast) and has taken the time to upload a behind-the-scenes picture almost every day. What we have here are some of the actors taking part, namely Dane DeHaan, Cara Delevingne, Rutger Hauer, and Rihanna, as well as some of the sets and styles of the upcoming picture. Take a look!

The amount of blue screens may remind one of a STAR WARS prequel, but Besson has always had a keen visual eye when it comes to his directorial efforts. I'm sure he's well aware that people still have a hard-on for THE FIFTH ELEMENT after all these years, and that those people in particular will REALLY be looking forward to his return back into the genre. I know little about about the french comic on which this is based, but I can tell you that I'll be one of the first in theaters to see what he can deliver.

VALERIAN AND THE CITY OF A THOUSAND PLANETS will be released on July 21, 2017.
