As preamble to Ti West’s new horror flick THE INKEEPERS hitting the VOD circuit on December 30th, a creepy little promo video has been released. Dubbed a “Sample EVP Research” clip, what you’ll hear is actual electronic voice phenomena that was recorded in the hotel in which the story takes place. New footage is also added to the mix, done so in a way that makes me question how authentic the whole promo is. My guess is it’s all a ruse, cleverly released a week or so before the film can be seen.

After over one hundred years of service, The Yankee Pedlar Inn is shutting its doors for good. The last remaining employees -Claire and Luke – are determined to uncover proof of what many believe to be one of New England’s most haunted hotels. As the Inn’s final days draw near, odd guests check in as the pair of minimum wage “ghost hunters” begin to experience strange and alarming events that may ultimately cause them to be mere footnotes in the hotel’s long unexplained history.
Sara Paxton (below), Kelly McGillis, Pat Healy, George Riddle, Alison Bartlett, Lena Dunham, Jake Ryan and John Speredakos all appear in the film.
