Children/Corn cast

Last time I wrote about the Sci-Fi channel’s remake of CHILDREN OF THE CORN, I let you know that it was just about ready to cast in the Quad-Cities area of Iowa. Well, we now have a cast. Bloody Disgusting is reporting that actor David Anders (well known to fans of HEROES and ALIAS) and actress Kandyse McClure (BATTLESTAR GALACTACA, the remake of CARRIE) have nabbed lead roles in Donald Borchers’ take on the Stephen King tale. Borchers of course produced the original film, which captured absolutely none of the short story’s grim intensity. Let’s hope he gets it right this time…

Look for CHILDREN OF THE CORN to air on Sci-Fi sometime in 2009 (when it will most likely be part of a whole day’s worth of killer kids movies).
