Those creepy CGI furballs purporting to be the titular characters in ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS will be back to creep us out in a sequel for which Fox has already set a release date of March 19th, 2010. The original, after all, made a ridiculous amount of money worldwide and continues to make serious green on DVD. The sequel doesn’t have a script as yet nor have they asked Jason Lee to reprise his role but it’d be silly not to and a script for these films is more of an afterthought than an actual pressing concern. What matters is that those CGI chipmunks have some sort of black magic that they’ll be working once again come 2010.
