A few weeks back we showed you a few new images from the upcoming STD sequel to THE HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL, cleverly titled THE RETURN TO HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL (check those out HERE).
Today we got a heads up about an interesting feature on the DVD that actually has potential to be awesome… or stupid, depending on how you look at it. Remember those great ‘Choose Your Own Adventure’ books when you were a kid? Well, looks like they’re trying to do the same with RETURN… check it out:
The DVD will come with a feature enabling viewers to interact with the storyline when at certain points it allows you to choose from two different paths… the film will have 4 alternate endings, which can be achieved through the different choices you must make through out the film… the DVD will be set out like a choose your own adventure, in which you choose the fate of the characters by choosing which doors to go through.
Cool, right? My first choice would be to have star Amanda Righetti get totally naked, either by taking a shower or doing a strip tease… damn, another path to choose. I’ll go with shower. The concept here is pretty cool, but that’s a little more interactivity than I’d like to have when I sit back and enjoy a movie. I just wanna hit play and let it run it’s course, I don’t wanna have to sit there with a remote and make all sorts of decisions!
Either way, only time will tell if the gimmick actually works and makes RETURN a better movie experience, or if it’ll blow so hard that even a different ending won’t save it from itself. THE RETURN TO HOUSE ON HAUNTER HILL hits DVD everywhere September 27th.
