Chris Columbus will write & direct Blumhouse’s Five Nights at Freddy’s

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

I'm not overly familiar with the video game FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY'S. I'm aware of it and I'm a fan of the art and general premise, but I've never played it myself. That said, I am a HUGE fan of writer-director Chris Columbus (with some of my favorite films being THE GOONIES, GREMLINS, and HOME ALONE) so I'm now officially excited as hell for this new film.

Yes, Chris Columbus will be writing, producing, and directing the Blumhouse production of FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY'S, with the video game's creator Scott Cawthon producing alongside Columbus and Jason Blum.

Are you a fan of the video game series and/or any of its other media iterations? Either way, let us know what you think of this new Blumhouse production in the comments below or on social media!

Synopsis:

Scott Cawthon’s popular video game centers on a security guard battling animatronic robots that come to life in a Chuck E. Cheese-like venue.

We'll let you know when we hear more.

Mr. Columbus, are you ready for Freddy? #FiveNightsatFreddys
