Chris Lloyd plays Doc Brown in a teaser for the new Back to the Future short

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Back in July we reported that the new BACK TO THE FUTURE Blu-ray box set would be hitting this October. There's some spiffy new features hitting the set, one of which includes a brand new short film entitled DOC BROWN SAVES THE WORLD. While it doesn't appear to have Zemeckis' involvement, Christopher Lloyd did choose to return to the role of Doc Brown to gives fans one last (?) go around at the character. Here’s a sneak peek of the new short coming exclusively to the Back to the Future 30th Anniversary Blu-ray and DVD set.

I'm not sure if a new short is enough to brings fans to purchase this new set, but for those of you who don't already own BACK TO THE FUTURE and its sequels, this looks like the way to go. You can also purchase both the new Blu-ray collection and Animated Series DVD in one set featuring the flux capacitor (pictured below). If you own the previous set, the video/audio transfers of the films will most likely be the same, so keep that in mind. Now who's throwing a BTTF party next month?!?

The BACK TO THE FUTURE trilogy will hit Blu-ray in a new box set on October 20th.
