Chucky TV series premiere date confirmed by Don Mancini

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

There may have been a Child's Play remake (which you can watch HERE), but that isn't going to stop the original Chucky from returning. Once again voiced by Brad Dourif, the killer doll is getting his own Syfy and USA Network TV series – appropriately titled Chucky – and the show is now in production!

Don Mancini, who has written every film in the Child's Play franchise (except for the remake) and directed a few of them, developed Chucky with producer David Kirschner. They are executive producing the show with Harley Peyton and Nick Antosca. Mancini is also directing the first episode, and he took to his Twitter account to confirm the start of production – and to reveal that the title of the first episode is "Death by Misadventure"!

Mancini also confirmed that Chucky will be making its premiere this fall, which is very good news.

The show has the following synopsis:

After a vintage Chucky doll turns up at a suburban yard sale, an idyllic American town is thrown into chaos as a series of horrifying murders begin to expose the town’s hypocrisies and secrets. Meanwhile, the arrival of enemies and allies from Chucky’s past threatens to expose the truth behind the killings, as well as the demon doll’s untold origins as a seemingly ordinary child who somehow became this notorious monster.

In addition to Brad Dourif, the cast includes Devon Sawa, Zackary Arthur, Teo Briones, Bjorgvin Arnarson, and Alyvia Alyn Lind, along with returning franchise stars Jennifer Tilly and Fiona Dourif.
