CinemaCon 2017: We interview Colin Farrell, Sofia Coppola & Kirsten Dunst

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

While at CinemaCon 2017 we had the opportunity to talk to a few folks, this year hitting the Focus Features red carpet to chat with the stars and director of THE BEGUILED; Sofia Coppola, Colin Farrell, and Kirsten Dunst. Our time was brief with each of them, but they were all in good spirits and happy to discuss what it was like adapting this gothic western (which was also adapted in 1971, which starred Clint Eastwood) from author Thomas Cullinan. Coppola talked about her approach to adapting the material and addresses why she's never made a sequel to any of her films. Dunst, who has worked with Coppola twice before (MARIE ANTOINETTE and THE VIRGIN SUICIDES) was upbeat (and beat from the press line) and confesed that she made the film just to work with the director again more than anything. Farrell addressed how hard it was working with a bunch of women trying to seduce him and admitted that it was not a hard time to be at work.
