Clint Eastwood on dumb politicians and those Expendables 3 rumors

Clint Eastwood is turning into my favorite crazy old man. In fact, he may not be as crazy as everyone thinks.

In a recent interview for Extra for TROUBLE WITH THE CURVE, Eastwood as asked about the events of the Republican National Convention that have since turned into the fodder for every type of media. Clint, who is very outspoken politically, may not be as party-affiliated as once thought. When asked about what happened at the RNC, Clint responded by saying “if somebody’s dumb enough to ask me to go to a political convention and say something, they’re gonna have to take what they get.”

Eastwood was criticized as coming across as old and out of touch but it seems that he was completely aware of what he was doing. When asked if he would do it again, in regards to the empty chair speech, Eastwood said “I don’t know. I never look backwards. It’s done and it’s done. I probably would.”

Eastwood also addressed the rumors that he was being sought for an appearance in THE EXPENDABLES 3. His response was likely a joke, but Eastwood said he would probably not appear in it but would direct instead. If I had to choose between John Woo and Clint Eastwood to direct, I think I would have to lean Eastwood. The man has not directed an action movie like that before but he would definitely make an interesting choice.
